Reconnect, restore, and revitalize the town by sparking economic vitality through the arts!
The Arlington Commission for Arts and Culture launched a spring revitalization campaign in collaboration with the Arlington Chamber of Commerce — Spruce Up, Arlington: Get Your Sparkle On!
Following the unprecedented year behind us, this initiative aims to “reconnect, restore, and revitalize the town by sparking economic vitality through the arts,” says ACAC Commissioner Christine Noah, who has been soliciting business sponsor to help the Commission create opportunities for local artists, beautify our business districts, and support a thriving main street.
Spruce Up, Arlington: Get Your Sparkle On! will brighten up the town and turn the everyday into the extraordinary” through projects like painting utility boxes, bringing art to the orange water walls of the outdoor dining parklets, a neighborhood haiku project in the Heights, and coordinating COVID-safe pop-up performances, and Neighborhood Haiku: Arlington Heights, a public art bringing original poetry to storefront windows in the Heights.
The Spruce Up Arlington initiative’s ultimate goals are to draw residents and visitors to local business districts and help fuel economic recovery. Businesses in town face many challenges along the road, but there has been lots of positive response from the community. Look for Spruce Up projects to roll out across June, July and August.
