ArtsArlington’s current featured artist is Jennifer Hruska, a musician, composer, sound designer, educator, and entrepreneur whose career brings together jazz, electronic music, technology, and education.
Jennifer began her career as a sound designer for Kurzweil Music Systems, where she helped develop award-winning music synthesizers and worked with industry innovators including Ray Kurzweil and Bob Moog. She later founded SONiVOX, an audio technology company whose technology reached hundreds of millions of users through mobile devices from Google, Motorola, Samsung, and other global brands. After selling SONiVOX, she founded and later sold a second company, 2getherAudio.
Alongside her work in music technology, Jennifer has remained an active performer and composer. Her career has included electro-acoustic performance, contemporary classical composition, and the release of The Underground Forest. Today, she leads the District 5 Jazz Band, which performs regularly throughout the Greater Boston area.
Jennifer also serves as Assistant Chair of Electronic Production and Design at Berklee College of Music. After leaving Berklee at the end of this year, she plans to focus fully on her music, including Delian Rose, a new CD and live show that will debut live in Boston in March 2027.
