Keeping Arlington Vibrant

Keeping Arlington Vibrant

Dear ArtsArlington Supporter,

It’s been a banner year for ArtsArlington!  Thank you for your support and participation.

From signature events such as Garage Band, to partner collaborations like the Bikeway Block Party, to the wide range of programs commemorating Arlington 250, there have been a wealth of opportunities to celebrate arts and culture in Arlington this year. We hope you’ve enjoyed the colorful art on our Town’s walls, galleries, utility boxes, and sidewalks, and participated in some of the many community events featuring musical, literary and cultural activities.

Support the Arts in Arlington!

We’re reaching out to ask if you will consider a donation to our Annual Fund to help us continue to support the vital arts ecosystem in Arlington. In addition to supporting our art programs, your contribution will help our dedicated volunteers continue to collaborate with partner organizations, produce our on-line events calendar and resource directory, oversee the Cultural District, support the Poet Laureate, and distribute state funds to artists and cultural nonprofits.

“ArtsArlington has brought public art to the center of Arlington life… There has been so much good work that anyone walking down the bike path or indeed many streets in town can be struck by a random act of art. Art makes us smile, makes us think, and makes us human.”  -Arlington resident

2025 Highlights

Below we spotlight a few of the ways our donors have helped arts and culture flourish from East Arlington to the Heights this year.

Marking 250 years of Arlington history through art and storytelling.

Projects celebrating Arlington 250 included People, Plants and Revolution featuring banners and accompanying audio essays; Then and Now: Arlington 250 Timeline on sidewalks and available as postcards around town; the thought-provoking sculptural installation Unseen/Unforgotten; and the collaborative exhibition Paying Homage to Harriet Powers at Mystic Open Studio, celebrating the pioneering Black quilt artist.

We’ve continued to commission beautiful murals around Arlington from New England fine artists. You’ll find several new installations on the bike path and in the Heights, as featured in the current Visit Arlington magazine!

A year of art, culture, and community across Arlington.

We’ve been a presenter, funder or collaborator for community events such as the Halloween Stroll, Indigenous People’s Day, Garage Band, the Patriot’s Day Weekend Menotomy Beer Hall, Arlington Jazz Fest, Belmont World Film Family Festival, Arlington Pops, AHS Student banner art, free arts programs for Arlington Housing Authority tenants, and more.

Coming Up in 2026!

We’re gearing up for great things to come in 2026. ArtsArlington will again be a lead collaborator with organizations and Town committees as we celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary – creatively amplifying the “untold stories” of Menotomy. And we will launch “Go Fish,” our most expansive and collaborative mural project ever, engaging the community in a celebration of the wildlife fighting its way back from extinction in our local waterways, in partnership with the Mystic River Watershed Association.

Your Support Matters.

In your year-end giving, please remember how the arts bring our community together in discussion and expression of our shared humanity. We invite you to join our growing community of donors who stand up for arts, culture and the humanities in a particularly challenging time. And for you who have given before, we thank you and hope with your continued support that Arlington will remain a strong civic role model admired throughout the region for our cultural vitality!

You can make a tax-deductible gift online or send a check payable to the Town of Arlington with “Arlington Commission for Arts & Culture” in the memo to Town Manager’s Office, Arlington Town Hall, 730 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington MA 02476.
