EcoFest Art Celebration to Feature 2020 Artist-In-Residence

Arts Arlington’s 2020 Artist in Residence Michelle Lougee returns with a new participatory art project calling attention to plastic waste and ocean pollution. Three workshops will be offered as part of EcoFest, Arlington’s annual celebration of environmental activism (April 20 to May 12).  Michelle will visit with Ottoson students in the Green Team and afterschool Art Club, and appear at two community events open to all – mark your calendars and please join in!

  • May 10, 3 to 6 pm: drop-in making during the annual student-run EcoFair on the front lawn of Arlington High School
  • May 11, 10 am to noon: drop-in making hosted by Mystic Open Studios

There are lots of other great activities organized for EcoFest; more information here!

Michelle Lougee launched “Entangled”, a collaboration with ArtsArlington’s Cecily Miller, at the HONK! Festival last fall. People string “beads” made of caps, packaging, and disposable toys onto plastic rope pulled from the Ocean by the Center for Coastal Studies’ Beach Brigade clean up volunteers.
