The year 2025 will mark the 250th anniversary of the historic battles of Concord, Lexington, and Menotomy, and 2026 will mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
In the year ahead, we’ll look towards our semiquincentennial, Arlington 250, to explore and amplify our rich local history and untold stories of Arlington’s critical role in our nation’s founding through public art and community engagement. Celebrations have already begun in major cities around the US, including local events already in progress hosted by Revolution 250 in Boston.
The Semiquincentennial Committee will coordinate the Arlington’s events with our sister communities of Lincoln, Bedford, and Lexington, (Battle Road 2025); Minuteman National Historical Park; Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area; Hanscom Air Force Base, the Massachusetts National Guard; and local, state, regional and federal agencies, musical, performing and historical re-enactment groups.
