I have enjoyed drawing and painting since I was a child.
At different times, I have focused on various media: pen and ink, charcoal drawing, silkscreen, and pastel. In recent years my work has been in transparent watercolor.
I have shown my paintings in local exhibits here in Arlington where I am a member of the Arlington Center for the Arts, ArtLinks, and the Art Wall committee, which is a group that mounts seasonal exhibits of members’ work at the Unitarian-Universalist Church in Arlington Center.
The delicious free time offered by retirement has enabled me to really delve into watercolor painting. I love the serendipity of watercolor: one never quite knows what will happen as the colors flow and blend. It is exciting when something unexpected occurs and you achieve the luminosity and glow unique to watercolors.
My inspiration is drawn mainly from nature, the play of light … and grandchildren!
