AiR Chanel Thervil – Photo Gallery

Portraits of Black Arlington

For her Artist-in-Residence project Portraits of Black Arlington, Chanel has been getting to know Black folks who live and work in the Town. The next phase of her project involved photographing people to generate reference imagery to create the final artwork that will be exhibited in a secure indoor community space – such as the Community/Senior Center or Library – in Arlington.

Chanel Thervil’s Artist-in-Residence is organized by the Arlington Commission for Arts & Culture in collaboration with the Town of Arlington Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Portraits of Black Arlington is made possible with funding from the New England Foundation for the Arts’ Public Art for Spatial Justice Program, with generous support from the Barr Foundation, and through grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
