Annual Art Auction Goes Virtual to Support Town Public Art

Chairful Where You Sit, an annual community event featuring artistically transformed chairs and small furniture rescued from basements and curbs, has helped support public art in Arlington since 2012 and rescued more than 400 chairs from the landfill. The fundraising event traditionally coincides with Porchfest and takes place in a festive gathering at historic Uncle Sam Plaza, in the heart of the Arlington Center Cultural District.

Due to Covid-19, we’ve re-envisioned Chairful as an online event and auction on view during the week of August 24 through September 7. Want to buy furniture art and support the kind of community-based work recently touted by MassCreative as “The kind of engagement [that] motivates us to promote the importance of the arts & culture in connecting communities and creating joy through public art for all”? Then be sure to visit and bid on your favorites August 24-September 7 at http://www.biddingowl.com/ArtsArlington!
